About myself

Little did I know when I was three years old that photography will turn into a profession for me. It started out with developing photographs with my father in a made-up darkroom of our small apartment in Romania. Slowly appearing before my eyes in a tray of liquid developer were the views that he saw through the viewfinder. Snapshots developed into photographs and the photographs turned into memories of the past which inspired me to capture the future.

My name is Martin Burlus and my nick name is Martini. Yes, I do prefer them “shaken, not stirred”; an elegant choice for the modern or classic individual looking for a quality blend at a respectable price. My recipe as a photographer is to provide my clients with quality, affordable photography, so unique that it will overfill their photo albums.

Capturing moments on photographs is an easy task. Just point and shoot. But capturing great memories that one can experience over and over again is an acquired skill with a splash of talent. My style of photography is photojournalistic with an artistic touch. I look for the beauty, emotion and intrigue of the subjects, places and events that I document without interfering or influencing. I also use this approach when I capture traditional style portraiture. Some of my best portraits are not staged and they portray the most expressions.

I enjoy documenting weddings because they are driven entirely by emotion and are full of interaction. My goal is to document each priceless moment of your wedding day with great focus on the details of the wedding preparation, ceremony, reception and any before and after special customs. Emotions speak louder than words and I strive to capture them in an artistic fashion.

I shoot using professional digital cameras in order to achieve the highest levels of quality and to truly capture the emotion, moments and beauty.
